Chuck became obsessed w/ these farmer hats, which are used only in this region. they're v versatile - protects u from sun & rain. in the rain, the farmers usually pull up their lungis into shorts, so they can dry themselves off easily after.83 views

we took this narrow little village road that people who visit Teknaf don't know about. the road ends after a while, & even our 4-wheeler couldn't make it past it all the way to the ocean. so we parked the car & walked82 views

this is one of the most amazing places i've ever been to. beautiful and interesting and fun. cliffs surrounding the valley we were in on one side, and the valley flowing into the ocean82 views

Burmese refugees have settled here on this Bangladesh side of the border. On the way to Teknaf, we passed a few refugee camps. This is not a camp, this is a village. the camps look like refugee camps -hundreds of huts all clustered together w/ UNHCR tarps76 views

after we had lunch, we (Chuck & Anika) went for a walk on the beach. then the skies opened up and it started pouring, sheets of rain. here is Chuck and a local burmese-speaking boy huddling under the overhang of a thatched house.76 views

Teknaf is on the southernmost tip of Bangladesh, on a narrow strip of land with the Bay of Bengal on one side and the Naaf River on the other. The Naaf river forms the border between Bangladesh and Burma74 views
